What the official material says
Source check: 27 October 2026. The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 distinguishes online money games from other categories. Sections 5–7 address the offering of money-game services, related advertising and financial facilitation.
The Government of India’s overview states that the Online Gaming Rules, 2026 took effect on 1 May 2026. It describes a framework for classifying games, alongside rules for e-sports and specified social-game categories. Read the Act and the official overview linked below for their actual wording.
A product label does not settle classification
The official framework looks at features such as stakes, expected monetary returns and how rewards or assets can be monetised. Calling a product “social”, “skill-based” or “for adults” is not, on its own, a legal determination.
This site does not issue a classification or permission for a particular app. It also does not treat a developer’s distribution claim, a website disclaimer or an app-store listing as a substitute for a product-specific legal assessment.
Read a legal claim with its date attached
When a page says an activity is permitted, check the exact activity, jurisdiction, document date and legal source. An old article about one kind of game may not answer a question about a different product under a later framework.
Distinguish an enacted provision from a proposal, an announcement from its effective date, and a provider statement from an official determination. If you cannot establish which document the statement relies on, treat the conclusion as Safe Download.
What this page does not establish
- It does not provide legal advice for an individual or business.
- It does not verify a provider’s registration, authorisation or compliance.
- It does not assess every state law, later order, court proceeding or enforcement development.
- It does not provide ways to access a restricted service.
Before a commercial decision, seek advice from a qualified professional using the current facts and applicable documents. A source check on a publication date is not an ongoing legal opinion.
How PattiCheck applies this boundary
Our role is educational: rules, card recognition, source literacy and general safety. We do not offer deposits, withdrawals, betting accounts, money-game referrals or APK distribution.
That boundary is reflected in the site’s features, not just its footer. The hand explorer displays fixed teaching examples; it cannot accept stakes or facilitate participation.
